    Battle a Cold with these Natural Remedies


    Cold and flu season is here and there’s nothing worse than trying to start a new year off on the right foot while feeling under the weather! Whenever possible, I like to use natural remedies to help the healing process. They can be just as or more effective than many medications without the potentially dangerous chemicals or ingredients. Try one or more of these cold battling methods and you may be surprised to find you’re better in no time!


    1. Echinacea

    Echinacea is a plant commonly used for its medicinal properties, especially as an immune booster. As an herbal remedy, you can get it in liquid droppers or pill form to treat the common cold. It’s said to be microbial, and it activates white blood cells that then attack infections. Echinacea is also good for future cold prevention. But if you have plant allergies beware, you could also be allergic to Echinacea.

    2. Yarrow

    Yarrow is another cold fighting flower that takes a different approach. It helps you eliminate the toxins causing the infection by relaxing skin’s pores – essentially helping you to sweat it out. Like many herbs, yarrow is best served in a hot cup of tea when you’re feeling ill.

    3. Chlorophyll

    Chlorophyll is the green pigment in green plants that absorbs light. It helps with anything from digestive issues to battling infections and detoxifying by promoting the production of red blood cells. Because chlorophyll is present in all green plants, the best way to get it is to eat your greens – but you can also take it as a supplement in liquid form.

    4. Ginseng

    First and foremost, ginseng is an amazing natural way to prevent a cold. But it can also help reduce symptoms and aid in recovery by giving your immune system a boost. Drink it as a tea or take it as a tablet to reap the benefits of ginseng.

    5. DIY Vapor Rub

    Instead of buying, many people opt to make their own vapor rubs. This is a huge relief as the store-bought kinds generally have harmful chemicals like turpentine (yup, oil!) and camphol. You can make your own using the necessary ingredients – beeswax pastilles, shea butter, coconut oil, and essential oils (eucalyptus, peppermint and rosemary or other essential oil) – without the nasty additives. If creating your own sounds a little too complex while you’re sick (I don’t blame you), you can buy natural chest rub online.

    这阵子在这填问诊单的多数是国内的。

    冬春之季少风多湿,是主因。平时多湿体弱的人易染。

    拿个英文的偏方偏法,一样是偏方偏法,一样的是不科学且害人。

    这么信偏方食疗,早晚害已害人。

    啊哦,那别用了。中医有什么防治感冒的方法么? 看网友感冒挺难受的。

    这阵子发的感冒帖子,我是主力,我填的都是国内的,症状大致相同,但是不是同一地方,山东、北京、内蒙都有

    明白了,一直为自己不感冒闹心,看来要消停一下了

    有一种说法感冒了证明你身体好,像俺这样的不死不活的,基本不感冒

    俺很多年没发过烧了,感冒就是咳嗽嗓子疼。最近这次发烧到39度,没准儿是最近中药吃多了,抵抗力又起来了。
